James D, a frequent visitor to OSR and the winner of our Guess The Plant Contest, has graciously recycled his prize and suggests we use it for a new contest. After much thought I came up with….. Guess The Bug Contest.
James, for your thoughtfulness OSR is sending you its copy of Last-Child-in-the-Woods Knowing that you are involved in the planning process of your town you will find this book informative and enjoyable.
If you are the first to Guess the Bug, OSR will send you this free (re-recycled) copy of the The Devils Teeth. Journalist Susan Casey’s account of her time on the Farallon Islands studying the Great White Shark with two biologists reveals the history of the Island and the wonderment of the Great White.
In addition, OSR has a bonus contest, Guess the Frog. If you are the first to Guess the Frog, OSR will send you a free recylcled paper back copy of Bill Bryson’s A Walk in the Woods. The book is about Bill’s experiences while Hiking the Appalachian Trail.
OSR will gladly mail Susan Casey’s true story completely free of charge to the first OSR visitor who sends the correct bug answer via our comments section for this post. OSR will also send Bill Bryson’s true story as well for the first visitor who guesses the frog.
Fergie our OSR mascot is true to form once again protesting her exploitation by closing her eyes. This time she is Joined by Coconut Jack our Ball Python who was found in a wooded area on a 45 degree day about a year ago. He is full grown at 5ft. and very friendly.
