Time for another Guess the…..Contest. In this contest you will have to guess all 4 creatures in bottom photo.
Larkin, from Dayton Ohio was the winner of our
Guess the Skull Contest and received a recycled copy of Peterson’s Field Guide -Western Birds.
The correct answer was Manatee Skull and was photoed while on display by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission in Lantana Florida last month during an Lantana Oyster Reef Restoration Volunteer Event . The good news on Manatees is in the totals, announced by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, 2009 annual aerial survey tallied 3,807 manatees, which topped the previous all-time high by 500.
Thank you to Kathy, Juli, and Lew from Tok Alaska for sending OSR 2 of the photos for this contest, Bart and Fergi will send you guys a thank you box. The other 2 photos came from my 8 year old son
Sawyer who can help me clean the garage as his contribution to the contest.
The winner of Guess the Frog Contest will win Peterson’s Field Guides, HAWKS of North America, definitely one of my favorites. The first OSR visitor to name all 4 creatures in the photo below via the comment section of this post is the winner! Click on the pic below to enlarge the image….good luck

OK On to guess #2:
Squirrel Tree Frog
Weasel
Eastern Glass Lizard (legless)
Black Backed Woodpecker
Btw the Devil’s Teeth subject of white sharks and their hunters, orcas, has a National Geographic Channel program devoted to the subject. The original research work performed by Peter Pyle at the Faralon Islands documented orca behavior that resulted in the complete and immediate vacating of the island waters by the great whites when the orcas arrived in the same waters. Pyle’s crew was able to tag a shark prior to it’s orca induced exodus.
The Nat Geo documentary aired (cabled) tonight. It was very interesting. I would not have had the knowledge of this subject had it not been for the OSR website and the Guess the…. contests
Thanks OSR!
