Sales Tax Referendum: Water Lines - Western Communities Palm Beach County

Where as Palm Beach County Department of Health has/or is in the process of, now or in the future, deeming well water unsafe for populations in the western communities.

Where as the estimated cost of supplying water to said western communities households will cost the citizens of the western communities 300 million dollars.

Where as a .0050 sales tax on all goods purchased in Palm Beach County will provide approximately 100 million dollars a year and fund only the construction of water lines in the Western Communities

Where as this sales tax will be in effect for 42 months or until all funds are raised and paid out.

Where as the population in the western communities has been under served in the form of services of police, fire, library, and civic community centers for more than 20 years.

Where as the population in the western communities has paid into the county tax roles disproportionally more than has been invested back into their community.

Where as this tax should be put into effect by a majority vote by the Palm Beach County Commission.

Where as if not passed by PBCC the .0050 sales tax will be a referendum on the November ballet as a (yes)- (no) vote and stand alone as the only issue. One Vote - One Issue.

To All Palm Beach County Commissioners:

The above, Sales Tax Referendum: Water Lines - Western Communities Palm Beach County,

should be discussed as an option to supplying water in the western communities (Acreage-Loxahatchee-Loxahatchee Groves)

As a citizen of this area I would much rather keep my well but understand that it may not be feasible. I also understand that others should not always bear the costs of a few. A .005 cent sales tax for 42 months seems more of an option then begging the federal government to help us, which in turn compromises the County Commissions strength to serve our community as we all know there is "no such thing as a free lunch"

Thank you,

Bart Colucci
